We meet our bride and groom Ina and Matthias in the Germanic Longhouse in Krügersdorf. Here they are joining hands today to tie the knot according to ancient custom.

Moved by his feelings, the father of the bride leads his daughter Ina to the place of marriage. There, waiting at the bridal arch, Matthias receives his beloved.

Happily, both walk arm in arm down the torch-lit aisle and enter the ceremony site. Together with family and friends they listen to the old myths and traditions.

During the ceremony, Ina and Matthias purify themselves of all things that cling to them from the past. They detach themselves from all false promises, from all old and new curses and enter the new stage of their lives completely pure and unsullied (purification ceremony).

The goddess Wör, the guardian of all oaths and vows is invoked. In the presence of all those present, the bride and groom pledge their fidelity to each other, and the goddess witnesses this sacred oath. A stone serves as a symbol for this oath, and in future it will be given a special place in the bridal couple’s home. This stone reminds them every day of the promise they have made.

In the early evening, the first delicate crescent of the still young moon appears in the beginning night sky. We invite you to a mystical torchlight dance, which leads directly into a flame celebration at the end of this wonderful day. We gather around the blazing fire of the burning runes and enjoy the magical atmosphere.

What could be better than to warm up this cold and wet weather with the hot love of the bridal couple and to seal the freshly made alliance in front of the eyes of the goddess of love.
In the circle of their loved ones, the civil wedding of Stephanie and Ingo already takes place at noon. But the old gods are also to give their consent to the marriage. For this purpose, we erect the sacred ceremony site on the property of the medieval inn.

During their marriage ceremony, Stephanie and Ingo offer fresh fruit to the gods according to ancient custom. Thus the two ask for benevolence and assistance for their union. The messengers of the gods now announce in all countries of the four cardinal directions that the bride and groom are henceforth a couple. They bring congratulations from all regions back to the bride and groom. It is particularly touching when the four children agree to the marriage of their parents by the laying on of hands. Amid countless tears of joy falling from the sky, the priests solemnly seal the covenant.

As Stephanie and Ingo leave the venue, all those present rise from their seats and congratulate the couple in love. Before the wedding party fortifies itself with coffee and cake, many beautiful photos are yet taken under the sacred Germanic world column – the Irminsul.

Afterwards, the music starts. At once our medieval dances spread a lot of fun and cheerfulness on the dance floor.

Late in the evening, Die Flugträumer provide another highlight. With their magical fire show they impress our bridal couple and their guests. But as always, even the most beautiful day of marriage comes to an end. We say goodbye to the likeable wedding party, who continue to dance and celebrate into the night.

In the glow of the warming fire and the blazing torches, the ancient legend of the eternal cycle of the sun resounds. Immediately the whole company feels the magic of the flames and feels as if they have been transported back to a time long past.

During the consecration ceremony that follows, the sixteen Valkyries transfer the desired attributes to Sebastian’s sword: “Ostara”. From that moment on, it serves its bearer whenever he needs it. By the old gods, Sebastian vows to always use the blade wisely. To confirm his vow, he sacrifices a part of himself. To the utter amazement of his beloved Justine, he cuts off his braid and gives it as an offering – to the all-consuming fire. Sebastian promises: My sword belongs for all times to the Old Gods and the Great Mother, who is the oldest and wisest.

After many poignant moments, we say goodbye to Justine & Sebastian and thank them for the wonderful time. May the benevolence of our Gods always be on your side!

Our first wedding this year takes us southeast of Berlin to the Germanic Longhouse in Krügersdorf. Here Justine & Sebastian have already been married in a civil ceremony in the morning. But today they want to celebrate their heart’s desire – to marry according to the old tradition – with a proper Germanic wedding.

The wedding party is welcomed at the inn with a festively laid coffee table and immediately gets into the right mood for the coming hours.

Later, as Justine & Sebastian pass through the bridal arch, the sacred marriage ceremony begins. All guests rise from their seats to show their respect and appreciation.

After the traditional ritual cleansing, the bride and groom enter the marriage temple. Accompanied by romantic harp sounds, the couple promise each other eternal fidelity and commitment. This promise is sealed by the handfasting. A ribbon specially made for the bride and groom encloses both hands and thus both lifes for all time. With their deeply felt love, Justine & Sebastian warm the hearts of all present – and so finally also the heart of Mrs. Earth.

Apropos – Brandenburg State, we will be guests here more often this year and will escort a few more bridal couples into marriage. But as beautiful as Brandenburg is, we look forward just as much to our brides and grooms in Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Saxony. In autumn, our path will even lead us to Austria. There – high up on an alpine hut in Salzburg State – we will perform a pagan marriage ceremony for Tini and Fabian.

The year 2022 is under the sign of the elements. The gods of wind, rain and sweltering summer heat are present and our faithful companions.

The wedding year begins with typical April weather in the unique Schorfheide – we may marry our bride and groom Anne & Stephan. At the very hot summer solstice our way leads us to Helmsdorf in Saxony. There we celebrate an unforgettable wedding with Marlen & Frank and numerous guests. Our herb women, our medieval dances and the many good humour provide enormous fun and amusing entertainment. We don’t have 200 torches at our nightly torch dance every day either, and so the day ends in Helmsdorf with a magical flame celebration. In August, the well-known Viking Land in Krügersdorf welcomes us. Anne & Maik tie the knot here. And upon the Elbe river in Tangermünde we finally meet Anja & Toni, who vow their marriage together and before the old gods.

This year’s baptizands are also adorable to look at. First the moon child Luna and later the lively Frieda are given the attributes of earth, water, air and fire. We give the two young ladies many good wishes on their ways through life.

During her traditional rebirth festival, Jeannette is symbolically carried to her grave. She parts with unflattering qualities and begins a new phase of life in the midst of her friends. Afterwards, Heino’s sword receives the gifts of sixteen Valkyries in the firelight to serve its owner from the hour on.

For the last highlight of the season, we travel to the Upper-Lusatian Highlands at the end of September. There we will host Karl Friedrich’s youth celebration and are happy to be able to accompany him into a new phase of his life.

All the ceremonies have brought us an incredible amount of joy. Everyone who was there could see it in our faces! We have taken our bridal couples, the baptised, the born-again Jane and the young warrior of the youth rite into our hearts. We thank you very much and hope that all those who were there will always have fond memories of the day!

For a few weeks you can marvel at all the highlights of 2022 again at this point.

Next to the handfasting, the spiritual wedding in the temple of matrimony is probably the most intimate and moving moment of the ceremony. During this time, not only the two bodies, but also the two sparks of life are interwoven. It is the true bond of love, because in this way the bride and groom remain connected even beyond death.

For this intimate moment, the bridal couple enters the specially prepared wedding temple. It is protected by a circle of fire and reserved exclusively for the two lovers. So close together, they promise each other things they feel for each other deep in their hearts. This creates an invisible yet real existing bond that welds the bridal couple together forever.

In the past years we have witnessed many beautiful vows. We have now compiled some of them for you. Please have a look at our small selection.

Yet more guests arrive in the afternoon. Happy children’s laughter resounds across the ceremony square, heralding another highlight – Karl Friedrich’s youth celebration!

As the autumn sun shines golden on the ceremony site, the three Norns place themselves in our midst and open the consecration hour.

The holy three women – Urd, Verdandi and Skuld – symbolise the life cycle of becoming, being, passing away and being reborn. They knot and observe the fate of all people. This is also the case with Karl Friedrich, who wanders through his entire life during the ceremony. Brave and persevering, he proves himself in competitions, demonstrates himself clever and shows himself to be a generous friend.

As a result, the boy receives precious gifts. These gifts are supposed to protect him, give him wise advice and guide him safely through life.

Even Thor, the weather god, makes his appearance at the ceremony with a light rumble of thunder. He greets us with affection and makes sure that the rain clouds pass us by quickly. In this way the solemn ceremony flies by. At the end, Karl Friedrich is proudly embraced by his parents and by his family.

We would like to thank Karl Friedrich, his parents Isabell and Martin and all the guests for a truly fantastic day! It was a great pleasure to accompany your young man into this new phase of his life. Dear Karl Friedrich, we wish you all the best for your future. Always be patient, self-confident and far-sighted!

It is precisely at this time that Isabell and Martin invite their family and friends to the Upper Lusatian Schlechteberg. Here today, according to ancient custom, we perform the pagan baptism for daughter Frieda Johanna.

During the ceremony, the guests eagerly listen to the meaning of the name of the 7-month-old child to be baptised. In addition, Frieda are given all 4 elements. She cheerfully accepts the qualities of earth, water, air and fire and will keep these primal forces in constant balance with each other.

Afterwards, the proud parents bring their treasure gifts and good wishes for the future. The godparents vow to always stand by her side whenever Frieda needs them in her life. Finally, the name rune Fehu is lit and all the guests gather for a joint photo under the shining symbol.

With the blessing of the family, Anja & Toni have come here to Tangermünde to pledge their marriage before the pagan gods.

The sun shines hotter and hotter as our bridal couple steps down the big stone staircase – right next to the castle of the old Imperial and Hanseatic City of Tangermünde – and enters the ceremony site.

Best man Malte is already waiting there and hands over the family sword to Toni. By Odin and Freyja he swears to protect the life of his Anja and that of his family.

Above the sword pommel, the priestess joins the hands of the bride and groom and seals this sacred bond for all time. The handfasting also binds the two clans together. The approval of the newly formed clan is immediately and loudly expressed to Anja and Toni by all friends and family members.

Dear Anja, dear Toni, you are now married according to ancient custom. We wholeheartedly wish you a harmonious and loving life together and a life according to your ideas and wishes. May the blessings of the old gods accompany you on all your paths!

Anne and Maik were already married in a civil ceremony in spring. However, the blessing of the old gods is indispensable for both of them. In the company of their closest family and friends, they will therefore tie the knot according to spiritual-pagan tradition.

Our bride and groom welcome their guests with a small drink. All present are looking forward to the coming hours. The ceremony site is festively decorated. Family and friends take their seats on the white arrayed benches.

The gods of all four directions are called upon, offerings are made, and finally the gods agree to Anne and Maik’s union. Thereupon the two promise each other eternal loyalty and solidarity. As the happy couple leaves the festival site, all the guests rise from their seats – cheering and congratulating the couple in love.

In the evening, the minstrels of Wolgemut and the dances of eheleite.com create a joyful atmosphere for the wedding party.

After a hearty feast, another highlight of the day follows. A mystical torch dance, atmospherically accompanied by the appropriate music. Anne and Maik then walk through the final torchlight parade towards their future together.

After all the guests have taken their places, Jeannette is symbolically buried. This allows her to cast off all bad experiences and characteristics and gives her the opportunity for a new beginning. During the ceremony, the eternal cycle of life is told: a perpetual being, becoming, passing away and being reborn.

Jeannette’s closest friends and confidants then give her good wishes and words of love on her new path in life. At the end of the ceremony, she is escorted out of the circle by her beloved, so that he may continue to stand by her side.

To medieval sounds Jeannette and her guests are asked to dance. Everyone is enthusiastic and Jeannette’s birthday is duly celebrated.

Later, as the night sky rises above our heads, the torches of everyone present light up the place. The magic of the flames is felt immediately as Jeannette and her husband Heino light the fire. That is why a flame celebration is always a very special moment.

In the glow of the crackling fire, Heino’s sword is given the name Naegly and the gifts of our sixteen Valkyries to serve its owner in all circumstances.

After many poignant and heartfelt moments, we say goodbye to Jeannette and Heino. We thank you for the wonderful day at your Double H Ranch. May our Gods always be on your side!

Already at her birth, Luna did honour to her name and thus to the goddess of the moon. She saw the light of day just in time for the full moon in the month of Brachet 2021. Her current naming ceremony takes place on the family property in Königs Wusterhausen. Friends and family listen to the meaning of the name together with the little baptizand. Bright and joyful, she accepts the gifts and characteristics of earth, water, air and fire. And the young lady also receives positive attributes from her godparents on her path through life.

Under Luna’s name rune, the proud parents then light the flame of their daughter’s life and pass on good wishes for the future to the little treasure. So the ceremony ends with a touching moment that will always be remembered by all present.

Dear Franziska, dear Christopher, we were very happy about the reunion with you. It was an honour for us to perform the pagan baptism for your daughter – may the old gods always watch over your entire family.

Two years ago they were already married in a civil ceremony, but they wanted to seal their love according to the old tradition as well. So they decided the time of the summer solstice was best suited for their pagan wedding. To celebrate this festive day together, we gather today in Helmsdorf near Stolpen in Saxony.

Numerous friends and family members gladly accept our bride and groom’s invitation and respectfully appear in medieval garb. Joyfully and excitedly they come to the ceremony.

The ceremony site is surrounded by time-honoured trees and dominated by the large Irminsul. One is immediately reminded of an ancient sacred grove.

Marlen and Frank pass through the archway built for them. Now the solemn ceremony begins. Legends and myths are recounted, and the old gods are asked to bestow their blessing on the marriage covenant.

During the ceremony, the bride’s father not only presents his daughter to the groom. Frank also receives the family sword from him as a symbol that he may always protect his newly emerging family.

Accompanied by romantic harp sounds, Marlen and Frank promise each other their mutual love and everlasting fidelity. Time seems to stand still as the new couple is joined together for eternity over the pommel of the family sword according to pagan custom. The unanimous consent of all present is then loudly proclaimed to the lovers. Marlen and Frank are exulted over three cheers of “So be it!”

The day is of course celebrated in style. Our herb women chat with the guests on the medieval festival grounds. The useful magic remedies from the home garden meet with lively interest. Everyone would like to have elixirs for beauty and love at home. For entertainment, the jugglers present mingle with the guests with musical sounds and create a cheerful atmosphere. As night falls, the torches are lit together. All those present form a torch walk, which the bridal couple walks through, visibly moved.
