At the end of the merry month of May, we travel to the green heart of Germany. We meet Frances and Marko in the idyllic Thuringian Forest. They have been a couple for 20 years and have certainly been to a few weddings. But today is their own great day. Today their union is to be sealed according to pagan tradition.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Frances and Marko are not only united by their great love for each other, but also by a deep connection to the pagan faith – to the customs and traditions of our ancestors. And so 100 people celebrate in the “Lange Lauter” mountain lodge<\/a>, honour our gods in the great outdoors and celebrate a glittering festival. The wedding party waits eagerly for the bride and groom on the beautiful mountain meadow.<\/p>\n

Frances and Marko take their seats directly in front of the priests and the pagan marriage ceremony begins. The solemn and magical atmosphere casts a spell over everyone present.<\/p>\n

The highlight of the pagan wedding ceremony is the traditional joining of the bride and groom. However, the so-called handfasting not only seals the spiritual and physical companionship of Frances and Marko, but simultaneously merges two families into one clan. This creates a new clan, and it is necessary to obtain the consent of the family members present. With a resounding “So be it!” their confirmation is immediately heard.<\/p>\n

After the wedding party has strengthened itself with a hearty Viking feast, it’s time to get dancing. Frances and Marko open the dance round. There is a lot of laughter and trying out our favourite medieval dances.<\/p>\n

As the last rays of the sun go out, the light of the torch dance illuminates the dark evening sky. The subsequent flame celebration rounds off this moving day. Ancient legends and myths resound around the flickering fire, and the magic of the swirling flames penetrates deep into our hearts.<\/p>\n

Dear Frances, dear Marko, it was an honour! We wish you all the best, much harmony and always the blessing of the ancient gods! <\/p>\n
