The calendar already shows us the first weekend in August, and the harvested fields glisten with a warm golden hue. Ever since the days of our ancestors, August has been regarded as a bountiful harvest month \u2013 the time when the fruits of the earth are brought in and people give thanks for growth, abundance and community. Hardly any other time could therefore be more fitting for a rose wedding. And so our journey takes us to Brandenburg today, where we intend to celebrate, together with Daniela and Dandy, the fruits of their ten years of marriage.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
For the festive wedding ceremony, family and friends gather in the afternoon at the Germanic Longhouse in Kr\u00fcgersdorf. The weather gods have taken pity on us. The steady rain has stopped, and Daniela and Dandy step forward before the priests present, in keeping with ancient tradition. In the presence of the goddess W\u00f6r, guardian of vows and oaths, the couple recall the day of their first promise. Before everyone present, they reaffirm their desire to continue their journey together.<\/p>\n
Over many years together, a close bond and deep affection have blossomed. What once began as a delicate blossom now stands in all its splendour \u2013 like a rose that has braved wind and weather and retained its beauty.<\/p>\n
The ceremony becomes particularly moving when Daniela\u2019s now grown-up children hear the loving words spoken at the bridal temple and bear witness to the renewal of their marriage vows.<\/p>\n
In accordance with an ancient pagan custom, the handfasting takes place, immediately sealing the couple\u2019s physical and spiritual union.
\nAt the end of the ceremony, the wedding party rises to their feet and cheers the bride and groom. Amidst warm applause, cheerful shouts and a wonderful atmosphere, the couple are celebrated and cheered on.<\/p>\n
Afterwards, our happy couple, together with all their guests, make their way to the festively laid table. Amidst lively conversation, cheerful laughter and the aroma of delicious food, anticipation grows for what the evening has yet to bring.<\/p>\n
Dear Daniela, dear Dandy, may the goddess W\u00f6r have heard your renewed vows and preserve them for ever. May your love continue to grow, flourish and blossom \u2013 just like the roses that bloom anew time and again in summer.<\/p>\n
