120 guests are invited to the wedding in Hohennauen near Rathenow, since Michaela and Jens celebrate their pagan marriage today. Hohennauen is situated in the beautiful Havelland, directly at Lake Hohennauen. While we are building up, there are a few strong rain showers, unfortunately. But just in time for the ceremony, the rain clouds are gone, so we can start on schedule.
And so, at three o’clock in the afternoon, a smiling bridal couple enters the festival ground to celebrate their great day. The two are accompanied by members of the medieval band AleWood from Premnitz, who fill the ceremonial ground with bagpipe and drum sounds.
Michaela and Jens swear in the presence of family, friends and witnesses eternal ties and loyalty – and the gods of all cardinal points benevolently agree with this connection.
With so much approval and happiness, Michaela’s sons Luca and Pascal certainly do not want to splash out and also give their consent to the new covenant of
their mother by imposition of hands.
After completion of the marriage, the bridal couple and their guests begin a joyful and festive wedding celebration, which will not end before late at
night.

Der Moment im “Tempel der Ehe” war für mich der schönste Augenblick. Das war Romantik pur!! Ihr habt beide so viel Liebe ausgestrahlt,dass man Gänsehaut bekam. Alles, alles gute für eure kleine Familie.

Für uns war es eine neue Erfahrung diese heidnische Zeremonie mit erleben zu dürfen. Besonders gut haben uns das Harfenspiel gefallen und die Bräuche während der Trauung, wie z.B. die Opfergaben, die rituelle Waschung oder der romantische und berührende Moment, als das Ehepaar für sich alleine im Tempel der Ehe stand.
Die anschließende Feier war fröhlich und ausgelassen bis in die frühen Morgenstunden.
