A natural cycle of being, becoming and passing away.
Our ancestors lived in harmony with nature. They organised their annual festivals according to the natural rhythms of the seasons. Every significant day in the annual cycle that symbolised a turning point was celebrated and marked with a specific ceremony.
Sacrifices were made to the old gods and by celebrating the rites, people also mentally prepared themselves for the impending change. Here in the north, people celebrated a sun cult. People’s longing for warmth and light gave the sun festivals a special significance. It took the power of the sun to free the chilly north from the ice. Only when the snow began to melt did the earth become fertile again so that it could be cultivated.
In ancient Egypt, on the other hand, people longed for the Nile flood. It was only when the banks of the Nile were flooded that the country began to flourish. However, all these cultures had one thing in common: they knew the cycles of the year and recognised the importance of the seasons. This ensured that crops were sown and harvested at the right time.
Our ancestors still knew that one must treat the treasures of nature with care. They performed various rituals for this purpose and thus became one with nature. A symbiosis of give and take.
We also perform these rites according to ancient tradition. If you would like to experience such a pagan ceremony, we can organise the appropriate ceremony for you. We look forward to celebrating the annual festivals together with nature-loving people.
