We are often asked how we actually found each other and how we came to offer pagan marriage ceremonies.
The answer to this question is quite simple: because first there was our friendship and then eheleite.com. Eheleite.com symbolises our long-standing friendship and our shared interest in the traditional and original knowledge of our ancestors. Above all, however, it is our closeness to nature and our enthusiasm for the beauty and diversity of Mother Earth that unites us. And although we are all very different, this common interest has bound us together for decades.
The story of eheleite.com began in 2006 when a couple of friends announced that they were getting married. We wanted to give our friends a very special gift, so we came up with the idea of surprising them with a pagan wedding ceremony. We chose a place in nature that we knew meant a lot to our friends.
Here in the midst of nature, we celebrated the ancient rites and joined our friends in matrimony. The surprise was truly a success, as our bride and groom were deeply moved by the ceremony. But we friends were also so moved that each of us knew at that moment: ‘I want to get married like that!’
And of course that’s what happened. 3 weddings later, we came up with the idea of organising this ceremony not just for our friends, but for people who, like us, want to tie the knot in the old traditional way.
That was the birth of eheleite.com. Since then, for 18 years now, we have been travelling across Germany, Austria and Switzerland to marry people who are close to nature. Or to celebrate life’s festivals or annual celebrations with them. We are very grateful for these experiences, because as the saying goes: ‘Travellers have stories to tell.’
A lot has happened since then. Not only has our repertoire of offers and props expanded, but also the number of our friends. During our travels we have met many a new friend and companion. And so it is that we are spread all over Germany, Austria and Switzerland. However, the majority of our circle of friends comes from the Berlin area.
And so we usually travel with 20 to 30 people to an event. So please don’t be alarmed, because we only exist in a pack 😉
The costs we charge are pure cost prices. And if we’re honest, the costs usually don’t even cover the travelling expenses for all of us. But that’s not what we’re about. We want to celebrate our festivals with like-minded people and get to know new people and places.
Our recipe for success is simple: our friendship, our solidarity and our unspeakable joy in what we do. Because you can’t buy motivation and commitment.
