For Christin’s and Benjamin’s marriage we traveled to the fortress in Berlin-Spandau on Saturday, to the so-called Citadel. The structure of the festival ground faced us with some challenges, because we could not carry out any groundwork on that historic, World Cultural Heritage protected site.
The root of the Irminsul was also not allowed to be brought into the ground; of course it was still supposed to stand secure. Therefore our construction battalion did things in style and found appropriate ways and means. For our Irminsul a base made of concrete had been poured in advance, which ultimately brought 226 kg on the scales. We did the same for the bridal arch in a somewhat lighter version. The Germanic-Pagan World Tree stood secure now, the ceremony could begin.
After the bridal couple had opened the beginning of the celebrations with a commemoration for the ancestors, 21 of us, 57 wedding guests and our bridal couple Christin and Benjamin arrived on the festival ground at 17:15.
Our three spokeswomen went into detail on the historical background of a pagan marriage and explained the corresponding mythology. When Benjamin and Christin went down the aisle, swore mutual fidelity and were joined in a handfasting by the priestess, not only the two witnesses Serena and Heiko testified their presence, but also all guests loudly expressed their approval to the marriage covenant.
We would like to say a big thank you to the team of the Historical Restaurant “Zitadellenschänke” for the rich support on the spot; and of course to all wedding guests, who attended our ceremony so focused and disciplined.

Die Eheleite wurde aufwendig vorbereitet und mit viel Liebe zum Detail durchgeführt. Die Atmosphäre war etwas ganz Besonderes und sowohl das Brautpaar, als auch die Gäste werden sich mit Sicherheit noch lange und diese Festivität erinnern. Das Team hat es wirklich geschafft optimal auf die Location mit all ihren Schwierigkeiten und auf die Wünsche der Beteiligten einzugehen.

wir wollten danke sagen für das schöne Handfasting.
Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen und wir sind glücklich das ihr uns so gut begleitet habt. Wir wahren schon sehr nervös. Die Zeremonie wird für immer in unserem Gedanken bleiben. Die Organisation war einfach toll. Ihr ward immer da wenn wir euch brauchten und wen nicht haben wir euch gar nicht bemerkt. Obwohl ihr all das aufgebaut habt. Es war bestimmt nicht einfach mit dem Denkmalgeschützten Boden und Gemäuer. Das Band vom Handfasting und der Schwurstein haben schon, gut behütet, einen Platz in einer Holztruhe gefunden. Wir werden euch noch ein Bild schicken.

Hallo Ihr Lieben!
Das DVD Paket ist heil bei uns angekommen. Der Film gefällt uns sehr und auch die Extras. Es ist schön sich die Zeremonie im nach hinein noch mal an zu sehen. Da wir ja doch äußerst nervös waren. Die neun anderen Exemplare haben wir schon weiter verschickt an Freunde und Familie. Die sie schon freudig erwarten.
Anbei noch ein Foto von unserer Hochzeitskiste, die unser wertvollster Besitz geworden ist.
Wir wollen uns auch noch mal herzlich bedanken, weil Ihr uns in unsere Ehe begleitet habt. Jetzt fühlen wir uns auch wie Mann und Frau. Nicht so wie nach dem Standesamt.
